London 40
Old St. Andrews has launched London 40 a London Dry Gin which uses the same recipe and process as our London 47 e.g. four times distilled, carefully crafted in small batches with a mix of 10 botanicals.
London 40 is also a premium London Dry Gin but lower in alcoholic strength at 40% alcohol by volume. This combination suits those sectors where a lower strength is important for alcohol duty and price considerations.
All the premium smoothness is available with the same unique and complex flavour and crisp, compelling finish, in a more affordable package.

Clear. Aromas of raisin toast, porcelain, dried citrus, juniper berry, and mild herbs with a silky dry-yet-fruity medium body and a creamy, oily, pepper and citrus gelato finish accented finish. A delicious and refreshing gin for all applications.

Clear, colourless and pristine as rainwater. Quite citrusy/lemony in the initial whiffs after the pour then softly pine-like/juniper once the air contact occurs; another six minutes of aeration release pleasantly earthy/dried herb notes that supplement the juniper and citrus headliners. Entry is alluring oily, keenly lemony and cedar-like; mid-palate is chewy in the texture, medium sweet, and herbaceous, earthy and woodsy. Generally I do not respond well to 40% abv dry gins because they are usually week in the knees, but this one works and it works well.
